Credit Repair Tips for 2013 (Part 6)

The market and economy is moving in a positive direction. Service prospects are developing, real estate values are evening out, and the economic points across the board are facing up. Along with that, credit repair chances have never been so delightful. Fair Isaac, the inventor of the famous credit score, doesn’t expose the bolts and nuts of their ways, but it is obvious that along with a reduction in regular debt default values, the FICO formula is much more forgiving of the previous mishaps, and much more rewarding of excellent behavior. It is the time to take control of your credit repair attempts for outstanding results.

Increase Your Account Limits
This concept may seem crazy for so many people that had their revolving account limits lowered in the last decade. But times change, and as default rates in general have declined credit card companies have become more eager to do business. Once you have taken all of the steps above and your scores are looking up and you have cleaned up your reporting errors, now is the time to call your lenders and boldly ask for higher limits. What is the point? The lower your balance is relative to your limit, the higher your credit score. And with higher limits, when you need to use your card you are less likely to cripple your scores.

That is the end of this series.  Any other suggestions for credit repair that were not covered?

Compromise Your Previous Debts
The financial wreckage of the previous decade has left a number of collectors feeling very hungry. When you clean your credit report up, take the very next step in the credit repair procedure and begin working on the legal debts that are left. Save a good amount of money to offer a reasonable proposal and reach out to the collector. Be resolute and keep your cards near the vest. Collectors can be very rude, but if you begin with a low offer and just play it cool, you are bound to be satisfied with the results in the end.

Dispute Your Mistake and Dispute it Again
The main secret to improving your credit score is patience. The agency maintains a lot of information and receives a lot of disputes. Your dispute might not obtain the attention that it deserves the very first time you file it. If you don’t obtain the answer that you want, then dispute again and speak a little louder this time. Let the bureau know that these mistakes are causing you financial harm and a lot of stress. Do not be pushed aside, even when you receive a letter back informing you not to dispute the issue again.

Take a Look at Your Credit Report
When you are working to reestablish and maintain your credit, you need to make sure that there aren’t any mysterious items that are dragging down your scores. Credit reports can contain errors and that is a fact. It is also a fact that unless you find them, nobody else will know about them. Take a look at your reports with great care. Take your time, but do it right. Pick up a highlighter and highlight every item you find questionable and prepare to challenge the items with the agency. If the job is a little too scary, get in touch with a reputable credit repair service to help you on the task. Either way, you need to do it!
